When the 2010 summer season of anime kicked off I was watching K-ON!! and Ookami-San to Shichinin no Nakamatachi, by the end I was watching six different anime. Highschool of the Dead wasn’t at all what I thought it would be, a clone of Rosario to Vampire, and I ended up reading all of the manga because I couldn’t get enough of it. Amagami SS became a guilty pleasure of mine, I’m not too into these romantic-types so it’s refreshing to keep up with this slow-paced multi-arc anime. The last two to join my watchlist were Shiki and Occult Academy. I had no idea these excellent horror themed animes were showing, somehow they had gone over my head; it would have been a shame to have missed out on these, but thanks to Random Curiosity and Anime Dreaming I ended up stumbling upon both.
Right now I’m looking at the Fall 2010 Anime Preview and don’t see much that interests me. Honestly, only the second season of Sora no Otoshimono is in my sights, anyone care to recommend some anime?
I’ve been catching up on my anime recently, I had a four-day break from work that I could have spent watching anime — but I didn’t — instead I hung out with friends, went shopping, watched football, and played video games. Oh, I have a lot of new games but not enough time to play them all; I look forward to winter break so I can just sit in a heated room all day wrapped in a warm blanket playing Okami or something. Anyway, the anime I’ve been catching up on: Shiki, My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute, and Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls. I’m not sure why I keep watching Shiki, it’s a disappointing anime series that can’t possibly turn things around in the remaining 5 episodes, maybe I just want to see things through after 17 episodes of the shit. It started off so promising and it was genuinely interesting and a bit creepy, what happened to it? Urgh. Okay, now it’s time to go play some vidya before work.
